Mike originally wanted a zip code that belongs to the countryside. But as luck would have it, our California native was meant to join the swelling ranks of Tokyoites.
“My wife and I moved here after the 2011 Great Tohoku Earthquake as she works in non-profit and headed up the disaster response team for her organization, which is based in Tokyo.”

Mike, a desktop technician (IT support) for a global media company in one of Asia’s major financial hubs, also dreams of one day running his own coffee shop and launching a startup or two. When asked to sum up Tokyo life, he says it’s akin to a bike ride:
“One must weave in and out of the strange idiosyncrasies and hurdles put in one’s way.”
